Two Pakistani troops were killed in a gunfire with militants in the tribal region of North Waziristan, which is part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The exchange of the fire has taken place on Saturday, that eventually resulted in the deaths of two militants and injuring two more.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relation, “The troops effectively engaged the militants position, successfully neutralizing two militants, while two others were injured.”
The operation also led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition belonging to the slain terrorists. In the midst of the intense firefight, two soldiers, identified as Naik Zaheer Abbas, aged 38 years old and hailing from the Khushab district, and Lance Naik Mairaj Ud Din, aged around 23 and from Dera Islmail Khan district, died.
The media wing of the army further added that the area is currently being sanitized for eliminating any remaining terrorist.
In a separate incident a day before, two troops of the Pakistani army also died in a gunfight with terrorists in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The ISPR had issued a statement, confirming that two terrorists were killed during the exchange of fire in Jani Khel area.
