The Security Service of Ukraine has detained another Russian informant who are launching Russian air attacks in Donetsk. The following information has been shared by the Security Service of Ukraine via their official social media handle.
It is to be noted that, the suspect has been slapped 7 years of prison term. While sharing the details on the following, SBU noted that, “On a tip-off from the perpetrators, the Russian forces launched a series of rocket attacks in the region, as a result of which at least 20 civilians were injured.”
It was added that, the suspect has leaked coordinates of local social and critical infrastructure facilities, including energy-generating enterprises, to the occupying forces.
In addition, it handed over to the Russian Federation the locations of the bases and movements of units of the Defense Forces in the Bakhmut and Avdiiv areas.
The details added that, the Russian was especially interested in the locations of fortified areas and logistical bases of Ukrainian troops in the Dobropill area.
Counterintelligence officers of the SBU detained the perpetrator in February of this year “red handed” when she was passing on intelligence to the aggressor.
Taking into account her cooperation with the investigation, the court sentenced her to 7 years of imprisonment.
According to the investigation, the informant is a local resident who was recruited by the Russian special services after the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
The details added that, the suspect passed the collected intelligence to a “liaison” – a member of the terrorist organization “DNR” through an accomplice. One of the popular messengers was used for communication.
According to the SBU materials, the court found the perpetrator guilty under Part 2 of Art. 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (dissemination of information about the movement, movement or location of the Armed Forces or other military formations).
The investigation was conducted by SBU employees in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office.
