The Security Service of Ukraine has arrested another Russian accomplice during counter-subversive measures in the front-line areas of Donetsk region.
The details of the following has been shared by the Security Service of Ukraine via their official social media handle, adding that, “The attacker collected information for the Russian occupiers about the places of temporary deployment and relocation of units of the Defense Forces in Kramatorsk.”
First of all, he tried to track the movement routes of Ukrainian armored vehicles, which are involved in the counteroffensive operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the eastern front, including near Bakhmut.
The person involved remotely transmitted the received information to a participant of the controlled aggressor “MDB DNR”. He used one of the messengers for communication.
SBU employees detained a Russian informer while he was carrying out an enemy mission on the territory of the city.
According to the investigation, the attacker turned out to be a 48-year-old local resident who, on his own initiative, offered the invaders his help in the war against Ukraine.
According to preliminary information, he “contacted” the aggressor through one of the pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.
In order to gather intelligence, the person involved involved two more residents of the city, who secretly observed the locations of Ukrainian defenders as ordinary citizens.
On the basis of the received evidence, the investigators of the Security Service informed the detainee of the suspicion under Part 7 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (providing assistance to the armed forces of the aggressor state in conducting hostilities against the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations).
He is currently in custody. An investigation is ongoing to bring to justice all participants in the crime. Perpetrators face up to 15 years in prison.
Counter-subversion measures were carried out by SBU employees in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office.
