The security service exposed another Russian collaborator during counter-subversive measures in the frontline areas of Donetsk region.
The Russian attacker has given the FSB the locations and directions of movement of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine involved in counteroffensive operations in the Bakhmut area.
The suspect was especially interested in the coordinates of the combat positions and the movement routes of the Third Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He also informed the aggressor about the locations of warehouses with fuel and lubricant materials and the number of military convoys of the Defense Forces passing through Ukrainian checkpoints.
The informant transmitted information to the Russian special services under a fictitious name via messenger. At the same time, he regularly deleted his own correspondence from FSB.
The occupiers needed intelligence to plan their own actions aimed at deterring the counterattacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the eastern front, including through targeted artillery fire.
Employees of the Security Service detained an enemy henchman “red handed” during an attempt to pass information to the invader.
According to the investigation, the suspect is a resident of Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region. At the beginning of June of this year, he was remotely involved in illegal activities by the Russians.
He came to their attention due to repeated anti-Ukrainian comments under fake news on pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.
So far, SBU investigators have informed the detainee of suspicion under part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborative activity).
The perpetrator is in custody. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
Complex measures were carried out by SBU employees in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office.
