Russian troops who are part of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine are currently undergoing low morale. As per several reports, the majority of them are sabotaging their vehicles, a Pentagon official has said. Apart from all this, the troops are also undergoing a huge shortage of resources, including food and fuel.
As per the reports, the official mentioned that majority of the troops who are part of the invasion are young fighters who are not adequately trained, and they were not even expecting such stiff resistance from the Ukrainian forces as well.
As per the US officials, some were not even told they were being deployed for combat. The report stated that these troops see laying down their arms without a fight, punching holes in their vehicles just to avoid combat.
The assessment has been designed presumably on the basis of statements of the captured Russian troops.US officials said the lack of energy of the Russian troops proves why the 40-mile convoy near Kyiv, as seen in the satellite images, is now crawling.
The continuous slowdown is also favouring them by giving them time to regroup and re-engineer their plans for battle. As per the Pentagon, Russian troops have been displaying risk-averse behaviour since the launch of the attack.
