On Wednesday, February 3, 2022, the announcement was made by the Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz that he would meet the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, shortly at Moscow.
While talking in the interview, the German Chancellor asserted,” to discuss the various necessary issues; I will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin soon in Moscow as there is great lack of coordination among European countries. Europe needs a significant policy toward the European Union and NATO”.
He further does not specify the meeting date with the Russian President but asserts that they would meet each other very soon.
Scholz further noted that there is a need for excellent coordination, and Germany is maintaining the contacts between the Ukraine and allies and other partners in the European Union.
He noted,” I have talked with the President of Russia, and there is nothing concerned, and we have made the preparations to combat the tension and informed that he would meet Russian President soon”.
On December 8, Putin became the President of Russia, and since it he took office, he held only one phone conversation with him.
Moreover, in Februray7 2022, the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz would be expected to hold meet a with the United States Joe Biden. As per the statement of the White House that both the leaders would discuss and share their concerns over both diplomacy and further the joints efforts to deter the further aggression of Russia against Ukraine. Moreover, they have also disclosed the importance of close cooperation on the various issues of the challenges that would be faced in the upcoming days with Russia and many others.
Furthermore, Germany has also been criticised for launching Nord Stream 2, which could pave the way for Russia to create the situation of war and also the various policies of the country have also been condemned as it was against Europe and could pose a threat to Europe, especially, eastern Europe.
