Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew extended congratulations to Mikyle Louis for achieving a significant milestone by registering his third century in the West Indies Championship 2024. PM Drew conveyed his wishes to the player through a phone call even after being busy with his official work visit at the Middle East and fulfilling prior commitments.
West Indies Championship is the four-day red ball tournament which is being held between eight teams who are fighting to emerge victorious in the tournament and claim Headley Weekes Trophy.
The teams that are competing in the tournament include Combined Campuses and Colleges, Jamaica Scorpions, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, West Indies Academy, Windward Volcanoes, Guyana Harpy Eagles, Barbados Pride and Leeward Islands Hurricanes.
PM Drew took to his official Facebook account and stated “I spoke with Mr. Mikyle Louis by phone today expressing words of commendation on his recent accomplishment. He has recorded yet another century.”
Mikyle Louis, the player of Leeward Islands Hurricane became the first player to cross the mark of 600 runs in the championship. With his destructive third century, the player finished the season by amassing 682 runs and led the overall run score in the regional cricket tournament.
Louis’s consecutive centuries are a testament to his exceptional talent, skills, abilities and techniques. He has scored two centuries against Guyana and his third century came against Windward Islands. His consistency, and power–hitting shed light on the continuous efforts undertaken by him to turn his aspiration of representing his nation on an international platform, into reality.
His electrifying performances reflect the brighter future of the West Indies Cricket team with having such magnificent talents in their team. He has also asked the citizens of the island nation to appreciate the young talent for his precision and for making a significant contribution to the team’s victory with his batting techniques.
