The West Indies Cricket Team on Monday has arrived at the Douglas Charles Airport, ahead of their first test match vs India in Dominica, which will take place from July 12-16, 2023. The details of the following was shared by the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit.
While taking it to his official social media handle to share the update of the following, PM Skerrit added that, “Wi Home! The West Indies Team arrived at the Douglas Charles Airport last evening ahead of the first test match vs India in Dominica from July 12 to 16. Don’t miss out on exciting cricket action at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.”
It is to be specifically mentioned that, the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Senior Men’s Selection Panel on last Friday has made an announcement releasing the list of the squad for the first match of the Cycle Pure Agarbathi Test Series powered by the Yes Bank against India.

As per the announcement, panel shared list of 13 squad members and two travelling reserve players for the match. It is to be added that the match will take place from July 12 to July 16 at the Windsor Park Stadium in Dominica.
Notably, it is not the first time that ICC is hosting any international cricket match in Dominica. But it has been in the eyes of the world, that Dominica is becoming one of the most preferrable destination for mega sports events, mainly for Cricket matches.
Moreover, it is not the first tour of Indian Cricket team to Dominica, but Indian team has also visited Dominica in 2011. The last time Team India played a Test match back in the capital city of Roseau, Dominica under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
It is to be noted that, Indian cricket player, Virat Kohli has also shared the picture with head coach Rahul Dravid from Roseau stadium recalling the 2011 match. Notably, Kohli is the only survivor from that team back in 2011, where current head coach Rahul Dravid was his teammate. While sharing the photo over Instagram, Virat Kohli added that,” The only two guys part of the last test we played at Dominica in 2011. Never imagined the journey would bring us back here in different capacities. Highly grateful.“
