The cases of COVID-19 infections, the people getting admitted to the health care centre and the maximum number of casualties is rising in Belgium. As per the information provided by the sources, the hospitals face pressure as the hospital admissions are increasing gradually.

As per the figures shared by the Sciensano Public Health Institute on Friday, an average number of individuals affected by the variant has been reported as 8,614 between 8 to 14 March per day, a 24 per cent increase on the last week.

Moreover, the new variant of the Omicron variant BA.2 variant accounts for around 76 per cent of all cases, while the Delta variant has been disappeared in the entire nation.

Along with this, the average number of the PCR tests that has been taken on a daily basis in a similar period decreased by 7 per cent to 35,208.4. The positivity rate now has been observed as 26 per cent, which means that over one-fourth of all tests have a positive result.

At the time of the similar week, an average of 21.4 COVID infected patients that have been dried on a per-day basis has been increased by 26 per cent from the previous week.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the total number of deaths has been noticed as 30,510.

Furthermore, the Virologist Marc Van Ranst mentioned that the increase in the figures highlighted that the condition of the health care centre that the “the situation in hospitals is still not comfortable.”

The total number of the 163.3 patients that are suffering from the Coronavirus infection has been admitted to the hospitals daily; there has been an increase of 14 per cent in the last week.

On Thursday, a maximum number of 2,262 individuals were hospitalized because of the infection. Over 100 people were admitted to the Belgian hospitals on Wednesday. One hundred seventy-three of the people are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
