The procedural vote made the World Health Organisation (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus the sole candidate for the leadership election in May 2022. Now, Chief Ghebreyesus is all set to sit for the second time in the WHO office.

The name of the leader had been announced after the executive board of the WHO had held the secret-ballot vote on Tuesday. The ballot has further confirmed the nomination of the only candidate for the post of director-general.

The former Ethiopian minister of health and foreign affairs might get re-elected when all 194 members of WHO states would cast their votes for the next director-general In May 2022.
Tedros is known as one of the great figures after the outbreak of the novel coronavirus across the globe. He asserted that his first five-year term was quite challenging, and it would be a great pleasure for him to further fight against the pandemic.
