The procedural vote made the World Health Organisation (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus the sole candidate for the leadership election in May 2022. Now, Chief Ghebreyesus is all set to sit for the second time in the WHO office.

The former Ethiopian minister of health and foreign affairs might get re-elected when all 194 members of WHO states would cast their votes for the next director-general In May 2022.

Tedros is known as one of the great figures after the outbreak of the novel coronavirus across the globe. He asserted that his first five-year term was quite challenging, and it would be a great pleasure for him to further fight against the pandemic.

Since the Cold-19 pandemic had outbreak across the globe in 2020, the WHO chief has been praised a lot for the way he has a counter and fought against the crisis and function the WHO effectively.

Tedros’s second term might be focused on strengthening the WHO after Covid– 19 show its weakness.

Earlier on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus has been surpassed the 350 million sad milestones across the globe.

On the other hand, the number of fatalities associated with the deadly infection caused by the Covid-19 virus has also exceeded 1.5 million across the world, as per the report of the World Health Organisation.
