During the time, when Russian oligarch and an unofficial peacemaker Roman Abramovich passed President Vladimir Putin the handwritten note, which Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, wrote, Putin reportedly said, “Tell him I will thrash them.”
As per the reports, the handwritten note explains Ukraine’s conditions for ending the war.
Earlier, among the sanctioned Russian oligarchs list, Roman Abramovich had acknowledged Ukraine’s request to help in the negotiations to come to an end to the war, which started back on February 24. The Chelsea Football Club owner has reportedly been fitting between Istanbul, Moscow, and Kyiv to relay messages from one president to another.
As per several reports, Roman Abramovich, as well as Ukrainian peace negotiators, suffered symptoms of suspected poisoning after a meeting in Ukraine’s capital city Kyiv earlier this month.
The reports added that the symptoms included red eyes and peeling skin on their faces and hands.
The report stated that Abramovich and the Ukrainian negotiators’ health have improved from before and are currently out of danger.
Meanwhile, the first face-to-face negotiations between Russia and Ukraine are yet to take place in Turkey on Tuesday. As per the reports, Ukraine is heading with an objective to secure a ceasefire, though both it as well as the United States are doubtful of a major breakthrough.
At the same time, the foreign minister of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, said, “The minimum programme will be humanitarian questions, and the maximum programme is reaching an agreement on a ceasefire. We are not trading people, land, or sovereignty.”
Furthermore, a senior official from Ukraine has said that at least 5,000 people have died in the port city of Mariupol since the invasion began. Officials further added that, the Russian attack near the capital city of Kyiv had cut power to more than 80,000 homes.
