The Prime Minister of the island nation of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew will be meeting with the Vice President of the United States of America, Kamala Harris in the Bahamas during the next week. It is to be noted that PM Drew will likely to hold talks with the U.S. Vice President, Kamala Harris on the several topics of concern.

Prime Minister Dr Drew will be among the Presidents and the Prime Ministers of the Caribbean to meet with the Vice President Harris on Thursday 8th June, 2023, during the U.S.-Caribbean Leaders Meeting.

Considerably, it will be co-hosted by the Vice President Kamala Harris and the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Phillip Davis, who is current chair of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Noting to the United States Embassy in the Bahamas, this meeting builds on the previous meetings of the Vice President with the Caribbean leaders in the month of April 2022, during the June 2022 Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles, and in September 2022.

It is to be mentioned that the trip of the Vice President, exactly delivers on the commitment made by the Biden-Harris Administration to extend the cooperation with the Caribbean in the pursuit of shared prosperity and security, as well as in the recognition of the common bonds and interests between the nations.

Moreover, the meeting between the leaders of the United States and Caribbean will be addressing several concerns, mostly related to the regional issues. Vice President Harris and the leaders around Caribbean will be continuing the talks on shared efforts for addressing the climate issues, including by promoting the climate resilience and adaptation in the Caribbean region and by increasing the energy security via clean energy.

The entire meeting builds on the partnership of the United State with the Caribbean for addressing the issue of Climate Crisis 2030, which was launched by the Vice President as well as the Caribbean leaders in the Los Angeles during the Summit of the Americas.

The Vice President of the U.S. will be travelling to the Bahamas in the Caribbean-American Heritage month and will also be celebrating the longstanding relations between people-to-people of the Caribbean and United States.
