The Security Service of Ukraine has neutralized the FSB agent network in Kharkiv. The following became only possible after result of a multi-stage special operation. The hostile group included three local residents who were collecting intelligence on the bases and movements of the Defense Forces in the region. The SBU took it to their official social media handle to share the details about the following.

It is to be noted that, the attackers tried to identify the directions of the transfer of the units of the Armed Forces, which are involved in the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian troops on the eastern front.

The details shared by the SBU added that, “They were also interested in the movement routes and temporary storage points of foreign weapons and ammunition of the Defense Forces.”

The Russian agents forwarded the received information to the FSB through the Telegram messenger.

Intelligence information was needed by the occupiers to prepare and carry out massive missile attacks on Kharkiv using the Russian Smerch and Uragan multiple rocket systems.

SBU employees detained the attackers while they were carrying out hostile tasks.

According to the investigation, they were involved in tacit cooperation by a personnel officer of the FSB at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Among those recruited was a former teacher of a local military educational institution.

During the searches, mobile phones and computer equipment with evidence of correspondence with the aggressor were found in the possession of the perpetrators.

On the basis of the collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service notified the detainees of the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law). Currently, each of them has been remanded in custody without bail. The perpetrators face life imprisonment.

The special operation was carried out by SBU employees in the Kharkiv region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.
