The Security Service of Ukraine have neutralized 3 more schemes of illegal departure of Ukrainian citizens of military age abroad.
During complex measures in the western regions of Ukraine, 16 people involved in the organization of illegal “trafficking” were detained. The following details has been shared by the Security Service of Ukraine via their official social media handle.
While sharing the details, SBU added that, “For money, they offered conscripts their assistance in leaving Ukraine on the basis of fictitious medical certificates and bypassing checkpoint. The cost of such “services” was up to 12,000 euros.”
The details further added that:
- In Transcarpathia:
A criminal group that specialized in illegal migration to EU countries was neutralized. The group consisted of 12 people.
They picked up their clients several kilometers to the border line, and then escorted them on foot along a previously prepared route through forest paths.
During the searches, unregistered small arms with ammunition and a RGD combat grenade were found in the possession of the perpetrators.
- In Ivano-Frankivsk region:
Another channel of escape of evaders abroad is blocked. It was organized by 4 residents of the region. The perpetrators were engaged in the production of fictitious certificates from the local military medical commission on unfitness for military service due to health.
Evaders were taken abroad on the basis of forgeries.
- In Ternopil region:
One of the another criminal group was exposed, the members of which, for money, “enrolled” potential conscripts to the driver’s list of a local company, which allegedly carried out international transportation.
In this way, evaders were given the opportunity to illegally travel abroad as drivers, some of them did not even have driver’s licenses.
On the basis of the seized evidence, all those involved were notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal smuggling of persons across the state border of Ukraine, committed by an organized group).
