The Security Service of Ukraine has conducted a multi-stage special operation in the Cherkasy region. As a result of comprehensive measures, a henchman of the Rashists was detained, who was gathering information about the bases of the Defense Forces and planned to blow up the railway during the movement of military equipment.
According to the details shared by SBU, “The attacker was looking for TNT to carry out the enemy’s mission.”
He also collected data on the routes of the movement of military equipment provided by foreign partners.
In addition, the person involved “leaked” to the Russian occupiers the locations of the air defense system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region.
He received from 100 to 200 dollars for the transfer of intelligence. on several own bank cards.
SBU employees arrested the attacker “red handed” during another attempt to transmit information by a Russian curator.
Thus, the Security Service prevented sabotage against the Defense Forces and blocked the transfer of classified information to the aggressor.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is a resident of Cherkassy, who previously served a sentence for committing a serious crime.
The figure maintained communication with the occupiers through an anonymous chat, where he attached photos of Ukrainian objects linked to the area and made marks on electronic maps.
During a search of his place of residence, a mobile phone with evidence of correspondence with the aggressor was found, as well as bank cards where money from the Russian Federation was received.
So far, SBU investigators have informed the detainee about the suspicion.
The court chose a preventive measure for him – detention without bail.
An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The perpetrator faces up to 12 years in prison.
