The Security Service gathered evidence on a former People’s Deputy from the banned “Communist Party of Ukraine” who supported the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The following information has been shared by the Security Service of Ukraine. While sharing the details of the following, “On the eve of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he was one of the organizers of the appeal of the so-called “International Union of Soviet Officers” to the president of the Russian Federation.”
In this “letter”, its signatories asked the head of the Kremlin to recognize the “sovereignty” of the temporarily occupied regions of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In addition, during 2017-2019, the former People’s Deputy took an active part in mass anti-Ukrainian events in Moscow and campaigned for the “accession” of the captured part of eastern Ukraine to the Russian Federation. He also advocated the official introduction of Russian troops into the territory of our state.
The information further revealed that, after February 24, 2022, the person involved expected a “blitzkrieg” of the Rashists and a quick occupation of Kyiv, which he repeatedly told others about.
Along with this, he also incited his acquaintances to help the Russian occupiers in case of capture of the capital region.
During searches of the attacker’s residence, banned communist literature and pro-Kremlin printed publications were found.
Currently, the perpetrator has been notified of suspicion under part 1 of Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine).
The issue of selecting him as a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved. The perpetrator faces prison terms with confiscation of property.
