WorldRussiaSBU exposes Ukrainian deputy for demanding money from European citizen

The Security Service of Ukraine on Thursday has exposed an incumbent deputy of Ukraine who has made a promise to clear a foreigner from extradition for $50,000. The following information has been shared by the Security Service of Ukraine via their official social media handle.

While taking it to their official social media handle to share the information, SBU added that, “The Security Service, together with the State Bureau of Investigation, documented the criminal actions of one of the current people’s deputies of Ukraine, who demanded money from a citizen of one of the European countries.”

The details further elaborated, adding that, “For USD 50,000, the people’s deputy promised the foreigner his assistance in avoiding extradition.”

For this, the parliamentarian “guaranteed” to use his own connections in court, so that the decision of the State Migration Service of Ukraine to refuse to grant refugee status to a foreigner would be annulled there.

SBU employees documented the fact that the people’s deputy received USD 20,000 – the first part of the monetary reward, and exposed him to receiving the second “tranche” in the amount of USD 30,000.

On the basis of the collected evidence, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine authorized the announcement of suspicion to the parliamentarian under Part 4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code (fraud committed on a particularly large scale).

The question of choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.

The sanction of the article provides for a punishment of up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
