The Security Service of Ukraine have recorded the criminal actions of the Captain of the Russian cargo ship “Sparta IV” Oleksiy Tereshchenko, who has been part of waging the aggressive battle against Ukraine.
It is to be noted that, he has extended help for the transfer of army equipment of the Russian troops from Syria to the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine.
According to the details shared by the SBU, “For the covert transportation of the cargo, the Russian have used the civilian vessels that belongs to the merchant fleet of the Russian Federation.”
It was also established that from the February 25 to March 7, 2023, a cargo ship under the leadership of Tereshchenko illegally transported a consignment of the army equipment from the Russian army base in the Syrian port of Tartus to Novorossiysk.
Notably, It is about:
- 2 Russian missile-gun complexes “Pantsir-S1”;
- 11 Ural-4320 cars with trailers;
- 200 unguided rockets for salvo fire systems.
The details revealed that, “Then the Russian equipment was delivered to the temporarily occupied Crimea for the use by the occupation groups of the Russian Federation on the southern front.”
Based on the collected proofs, the investigators of the Security Service notified Tereshchenko of the suspicion under Part 5 of Article 27 and Part 2 of Art. 437 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code (planning, preparation, initiation and waging of an aggressive war).
According to the SBU, “Since the suspect is on the territory of Russia, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring him to justice for crimes against our state. The perpetrator faces up to 15 years in prison. The investigation was conducted under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office.”
