The Security Service has gathered proofs on the current commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navel forces, Vice Admiral Viktor Sokolov. The official has been involved in the massive Russian strikes on the civilian targets across Ukraine.
In the period from August 10, 2022, Sokolov personally gave orders regarding regular combat launches of 3M14 “Caliber” cruise missiles against the energy infrastructure of our state.
As a result of enemy shelling, 4 civilians died, another 40 were injured.
According to the investigation, the aggressor carried out air attacks on energy facilities in Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Odesa, Zaporizhzhya, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Chernivtsi, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
It is also to be mentioned that Russian shelling caused significant losses to the national system of life support for the civilian population of Ukraine.
Notably, Russian missile strikes led to the temporary shutdown of dozens of local educational institutions, hospitals and other social institutions.
At the same time, on the basis ofthe collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service notified Sokolov of suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
▪️ Part 2 Art. 28, Part 1 of Art. 438 and Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war, committed by a group of persons according to a prior conspiracy);
▪️ Part 3 Art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine);
▪️ Part 2 Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 437 (planning, preparation, unleashing and waging of an aggressive war, committed by a group of persons based on a prior conspiracy).
Comprehensive measures are underway to bring him to justice for crimes against our state.
The perpetrator faces life imprisonment.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
