The Security Service of Ukraine has nabbed three more Russian traitors and militants of the L/DNR terrorist organizations, who fought against Ukraine. The following has been shared following the evidence shared by the SBU.
The attackers were captured by Ukrainian defenders during the hostilities on the eastern and southern fronts, including in the Mykolaiv direction.
According to SBU materials, the court sentenced two militants to 15 years in prison, another to 8 years, taking into account his assistance to the investigation.
One of the convicts is the deputy commander of the so-called “1st company of the 248th infantry battalion of the LNR”, who fought against the ATO forces since 2015.
On the eve of the full-scale invasion, he joined the regular troops of the Russian Federation.
And already on February 24, 2022, he crossed the demarcation line across the Siverskyi Donets River and took up combat positions in the area of the village of Dovhe Alchevsk District of Luhansk Oblast.
Another militant has also been fighting against Ukrainian troops since 2015. At that time, he was part of the terrorist group “Shum” of the so-called “Cossack Union of the Military Region of the Don DNR”.
Later, he transferred to the “Vostok” battalion to the “position” of a rifleman, and in March 2023 he “replenished” the ranks of the unit of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation called “Storm”.
Another perpetrator is a resident of Luhansk. In August 2022, he underwent military training at one of the training centers of the Russian occupation groups.
Then he was appointed to the post of gunner in one of the airborne divisions of the Russian Armed Forces.
There he took part in combat operations against the Defense Forces on the territory of the Mykolaiv Oblast.
Based on the collected evidence, the court found the perpetrators guilty under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
▪️ part 1, 2 art. 111 (treason);
▪️ Part 7 Art. 111-1 (collaborative activity);
▪️ Part 1 Art. 258-3 (participation in a terrorist organization).
The investigation was carried out by SBU employees in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office.
