The Security Service collected evidence on 9 more militants of the L/DNR terrorist organizations. The perpetrators were captured during clashes in Avdiivka, Maryinka and Lysychansk districts in April and May of this year.

According to the investigation, the accused took an active part in combat operations against the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, they were part of the Russian punitive squads that carried out “sweeps” of temporarily occupied settlements in the Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

During such “raids”, the main “target” of the Rashists were the Ukrainian military and members of the resistance movement among local residents.

As the investigators established, the enemy accomplices are residents of the temporarily captured areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, who joined the ranks of the L/DNR terrorists before the start of the full-scale invasion.

On the eve of the full-scale invasion, they were transferred to the regular units of the Southern Military District of the USSR.

There they were appointed to the “positions” of snipers, grenade launchers, marksmen and assistant machine gunners.

On the basis of the evidence taken, the investigators of the Security Service informed the suspects of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

▪️ Part 2 Art. 111 (treason committed under martial law);

▪️ Part 2 Art. 260 (creation of armed formations not provided for by law or participation in their activities).

They are currently in custody. An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crimes. The perpetrators face life imprisonment.

Complex measures were carried out by SBU employees under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
