The security service has collected indisputable evidence of the guilt of the deputy of the lower house of the federal assembly of Russia, Denys Maidanov, who contributed to the seizure of part of the eastern regions of Ukraine.
On February 15 of this year, he supported the resolution regarding the appeal to the President of the Russian Federation with a request to recognize the “independence” of the occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In addition, on February 22, the Russian deputy voted for the ratification of the “agreement on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance” between the aggressor country and the terrorist organizations “L/DNR”.
Thus, the official contributed to the implementation of the Kremlin’s plan to take over Ukraine.
After all, the relevant decisions of the State Duma of the Russian Federation were used by the higher military and political leadership of Russia as a formal pretext for launching a full-scale invasion against Ukraine.
On the basis of the collected evidence, the court found Maidanov guilty under Part 3 of Art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity & inviolability of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and imposed a sentence of 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Since the convicted person is currently on the territory of the Russian Federation, the beginning of the term of serving the sentence is determined from the day of his actual detention.
The investigation was conducted by SBU investigators of the Chernivtsi region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.
