The Security Services of Ukraine, along with the special service of the Republic of Moldova SIS (Information and Security Service), has blocked the transnational channel of illegal migration to the European Union.
As a result of comprehensive steps, the international investigative and operative group documented the criminal activity and arrested the organizers and participants of the ‘scheme.’
For the money, the perpetrators offered Ukrainian citizens of the draft age to leave the borders of Ukraine outside the checkpoints.
“Traffic” ran from the territory of Vinnytsia and Chernivtsi regions to Moldova, and then via “detours” to the EU countries.
One of the routes used by the partisans for a hidden exit is by boat across the local border river.
The cost of such services was from 4.5 thousand dollars. The amount depended on the region of residence and the urgency of departure.
Thanks to the prompt response and coordinated actions of the special services of both countries, it was possible to prevent the illegal departure of more than a hundred evaders to Western countries.
According to the investigation, a transnational criminal group, which specializes in the organization of illegal migration channels, is involved in illegal activities.
The group included citizens of Ukraine and Moldova.
To find potential customers, criminals used their own connections, including among representatives of criminal circles.
During searches of the places of residence of the accused, law enforcement officers found material evidence of the crime, in particular, money received from “tourists”.
Within the framework of criminal proceedings under Art. 332 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, an investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the offenses and bring the guilty to justice.
Measures to expose and block illegal actions were carried out under the procedural leadership of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
