Russia has recently released a ‘stop list’, putting a complete ban on 963 Americans- including US president Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken from taking an entry into nation.The list came in retaliation against global sanctions imposed on Russia. The list further includes Hollywood celebrities- including Morgan Freeman and actor-filmmaker Rob Reiner.
Moscow said the list includes people who “incites Russophobia and those who serve them” and not the common Americans “who have always been respected by us.”
As per reports, Biden’s name was also in the March list too, but this new list has his deputy Harris’s name too.
US Speaker Nancy Pelosi, senate majority leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif) were among those who have been restricted to enter into the nation.
According to a statement issued by the Russian foreign ministry, “Russia is publishing the list of American citizens, who are permanently restricted from entry into Russia, as countermeasures to the constant imposition of sanctions against Russia by the US and in reply to the queries about people included in our national stop list.”
While former secretary of state Mike Pompeo also figures in the Russia’s “stop list”. Several people on social media have also triggered that Donald Trump’s name was missing.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden has been making sharp comments against president Putin ever since the Ukraine war begins.
