“Putin continues to interpret history to prove that the West is Russian enemy,” were the words of the Advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs, Anton Gerashchenko.
It is to be noted that the Advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs, Anton Gerashchenko, took it to his official social media handle to share the video of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
While sharing the details on the above mentioned, Ukrainian Advisor Gerashchenko, says that, “Putin continues to interpret history to prove that the West is Russian enemy. This time, he compared “the West” and the Horde when Alexander Nevsky (a medieval prince) supported the Mongol rule within his domains. The Golden Horde, says Putin, “behaved cruelly” – but was still better for Russia than the West.”

Along with this, he also shared the video clip of President Vladimir Putin, in which, he could be seen as speaking that, “Let us recall what happened in the times of, let’s say, Alexander Nevsky. After all, he went to the Horde, bowed to the Horde Khans, received a label to reign, among other things, and above all, in order to effectively resist the invasion from the West.”
“Why? Because the Horde behaved impudently, cruelly, but they did not affect the main thing- our language, traditions, culture, which was claimed by the Western invaders. And this is the most thing, because if the culture and the traditions and the history of the people are destroyed, the people gradually begin to disappear as an ethnos, to dissolve like snow in the late spring,” says President Putin in the address.
In the video, he could be further seen stating that, “Why do we honor Alexander Nesky as a saint? Exactly for this choice. He thought about preserving the Russian people, and then all the peoples living on the territory of our vast country.”
