Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew visited several areas in St Peter’s to examine the progress of the ongoing construction work. His visit focuses on his unwavering commitment and dedication to the betterment and development of the nation.
PM Drew visited local businesses, health centres and several other community centres in order to meet the citizens of the nation to examine their needs and requirements.
He first made a visit to the construction site of St Peter’s main road where the work is still ongoing and he expressed gratitude on seeing the progress on the refurbishment work. For the same, he lauded his labour Party’s administration who are constantly striving hard in order to work for the welfare of their citizens and trying their best to serve them with the best amenities, prioritizing their needs and comforts.
While sharing the glimpses he noted, “Thank God for this Labour Government the people of St. Peter’s will have a rehabilitated road network.” He also criticized the previous government for ignoring the road project which was crucial for the advancement of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
Following that, PM Terrance Drew stopped at the St Peter’s Community Centre where he interacted with the children who were engaged in painting activities as part of the ongoing Easter Camp. He motivated and encouraged the young children to learn as much as they could.
He later visited St Peter’s Health Centre where he interacted with the patients and medical staff and tried to spread a little cheer on their faces in order to bring joy and happiness.
Moreover, the people of St Peter’s are also struggling due to water scarcity therefore, PM Terrance Drew and his administration have taken measures in order to get rid of the issue.
While talking about the problem, he said “We have no control over climate change and the lack of rainfall, but we still have to seek solutions as water is life.”
The solutions include a 2-million-gallon desal plant project, construction of the desal plant at Canada Estate, Purchasing of water from Marriott Hotel and many other projects. These projects shed light on the efforts of the Terrance Drew-led administration to provide their citizens with all the amenities.
