Counter-intelligence of the Security Service detained another Russian informer during counter-subversive measures in Donetsk region.
The attacker turned out to be a resident of the Pokrovsky district, who, after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, created his own Telegram channel.
On this resource, he posted electronic maps with markings of the locations of bases and movements of the units of the Armed Forces in the Avdiiv direction.
The details about the following has been made by the Security Service of Ukraine via their official social media handle.
He collected relevant information on his own initiative during trips to the area, where he secretly recorded the locations of Ukrainian defenders.
He also published information about the consequences of Russian air strikes on the territory of the district.
In these messages, he “illuminated” the coordinates of the affected Ukrainian objects with reference to the area.
It was established that among the main users of the Internet resource were militants of the occupation groups and representatives of the special services of the Russian Federation, who participate in combat operations against the Defense Forces on the Eastern Front.
In addition, the suspect used his own Telegram channel to spread fake Kremlin propaganda about the socio-political situation in the region.
On the basis of the collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service informed the detainee of the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the transfer, transfer of weapons, armaments and military supplies to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law).
He is currently in custody. An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The perpetrator faces up to 8 years in prison.
Complex measures were carried out by SBU employees in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office.
