Counter-intelligence of the Security Service detained another agent of the FSB of the Russian Federation in Mykolaiv. He was preparing a new air raid on defense plants and the building of the SBU administration in the region.
It has been added that the agent “hunted” for the exact coordinates of these objects, and also offered to “hit” them with Russian “Kinzhal” missiles.
The details added that, the person involved collected intelligence about the places of deployment and movement of other units of the Defense Forces in the front-line areas of the southern region.
In addition, he transmitted geolocations of civil infrastructure objects to the aggressor.
The information about the following has been shared by the Security Service of Ukraine via their official social media handle.
In the case of successful completion of tasks, the special service of the Russian Federation promised its accomplice a monetary “reward”, which the attacker hoped to receive on his own bank card.
But counter-intelligence officers of the SBU foiled the enemy’s plans – timely exposed the person involved, documented the criminal actions and detained him. A gadget with evidence of his correspondence with the FSB was seized from an enemy agent.
According to the investigation, the attacker turned out to be a local resident who was remotely recruited by the Russian special services at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
He came into the aggressor’s field of vision due to the spread of anti-Ukrainian comments in pro-Kremlin Telegram channels and calls to launch a missile attack on military facilities in Mykolaiv.
Based on the collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service notified the detainee of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
▪️ Part 2 Art. 111 (treason committed under martial law);
▪️ Part 2 Art. 15, Part 5 of Art. 27, Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 1 of Art. 438 (completed attempt to commit an aiding and abetting violation of the laws and customs of war).
A preventive measure was chosen for the traitor – detention. An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. He faces life imprisonment.
Complex measures were carried out by SBU employees in the Mykolaiv region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.
