The Security Service of Ukraine has gathered a powerful evidence base on another henchman of the Russian Federation who, have not just cooperated and worked with the Russian troops in spreading the terror in the Donetsk region, but also fled the region in an attempt to avoid justice.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he handed over the locations of the Defense Forces in the Lyman direction to the occupiers.
However, after the liberation of the region from the Russian invaders, their informant decided to flee to the Lviv region, where as a displaced person he wanted to “hide” among local residents.
During the investigation, it became known that the person involved planned to resume his contacts with the occupiers. In particular, to give them intelligence already from the territory of the western region of Ukraine.
SBU employees located him and detained him at the end of December last year.
According to the materials of the Ukrainian special service, the court sentenced the perpetrator to 13 years in prison.
As the investigators established, the accomplice of the aggressor turned out to be a resident of Donetsk region, who at the beginning of the full-scale invasion went to cooperate with the invaders.
He transmitted the received intelligence information through a “liaison” – a militant of the terrorist organization “DNR” who was in the temporarily captured part of the region.
Russian social networks and messengers were used for communication.
On the basis of the collected evidence, the court found the perpetrator guilty under Part 7 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborative activity).
The investigation was carried out by operatives and investigators of the SBU in the Lviv region under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office.
