The security service systematically prosecutes members of the occupation groups of the aggressor country.
As a result of investigative as well as operational actions, substantiated evidence of the guilt of 4 more militants who had fought against Ukraine as part of units of the Southern Military District of the Soviet Union of the Russian Federation was collected.
Ukrainian defenders captured them during the fighting in the Bakhmut and Ugledar directions.
Noting to the SBU materials, the court sentenced one of the accused to 10 years in prison, the other three to 12 years.
Among the convicts is commander of the motorized rifle platoon of 2nd Army Corps of Russia.
Since 2014, he has participated in combat operations against the ATO forces, and after the start of the large-scale invasion, he gave orders to shell Ukrainian cities in the east from Pion self-propelled artillery installations.
After February 24 last year, another militant attacked settlements in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The invader who, as part of the 5th separate motorized rifle brigade “Oplot”, participated in the attempts to capture the village of Velyka Novosilka, was also convicted.
In addition, a real prison term was given to a militant who, since 2014, was part of the “intelligence department of the Republican Guard of the DNR” created by the aggressor.
In the ranks of terrorists, he guarded Russian prisons, where members of resistance movement were illegally detained, and after a full-scale invasion, he attacked Ukrainian cities on the eastern front.
Based on the collected evidence, the court found the perpetrators guilty under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
▪️ Art. 111 (treason);

▪️ Article 258-3 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization);
▪️ Art. 260 (participation in paramilitary or armed formations not provided for by law).
The Security Service emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.
