Following the recent incident of vandalizing, the Indian High Commission in the UK in reply to Khalistan supporters has put up a giant Tricolor flag atop the High Commission building in London.
It is to be mentioned that on March 19, the Khalistani radicals, in large numbers have, gathered and protested and vandalized the Indian flag at High Commission of India in UK. On the other hand, India has raised strong protests against the Khalistani elements, demanding the detention and prosecution of perpetrators.
Notably, earlier on Wednesday, barricades from outside the British High Commission in New Delhi were also removed.
Following the vandalism incident reported, the Ministry of External Affairs has released a statement adding about the summoning of the senior most UK diplomat in New Delhi on Sunday night.
At the same time, an explanation was also demanded for complete absence of British security which has allowed pro-Khalistan elements to take entry into the High Commission premises. The diplomat was reminded in the following regard of the basic obligations of UK government under the Vienna Convention.
As per the statement issued by the MEA, “India finds unacceptable the indifference of UK government to the security of Indian diplomatic premises and personnel in the UK.”
It is to be mentioned that the British High Commissioner Alex Ellis has also condemned the “disgrace acts” outside the Indian High Commission, calling it totally unacceptable.
British High Commissioner to India, Alex Ellis took it to his official Twitter handle to share that, “I condemn the disgraceful acts today against the people and the premises of the High Commission of India- totally unacceptable.”
