During the conference, PM Skerrit said that, “There is an interesting decline in the prices, and every cent comes, and LPG has a corresponding fall between 20 & 65 cents from the 20-pound cylinder to the hundred pounds.”
Meanwhile, PM Skerrit has also mentioned about the shortage of petroleum products across the island during the month of December. Alongside, while noting to the recent agreement with the government of Venezuela, PM Skerrit added that, “Now, as you recall, Dominica inked on the specific agreement very early after its establishment by the Venezuela President, blessed memory Chavez, and part of this strategy was for Energy Security in the region with Venezuela used in his vast resources to help Dominica ensuring that we can have a continued access and of supplies.”
“When we entered an agreement, the government has taken a deliberate decision to just importing from Venezuela Diesel and liquified petroleum gas and leaving the import of Gasoline exclusively to the other existing private entities,” said Skerrit.
