On Thursday, January 20, 2022, Russia has reported the highest number of cases of the COVID-19 virus since November 13, 2021. In total, 38,850 people have been exposed to the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours. As per the reports federal response centre, with the emergence of the new cases of the deadly virus, the toll of the number of the confirmed cases was rose to 10,938,261.
Moreover, the growth rate of novel coronavirus infection in the country stood at 0.36 percent.
As per the status of cases from a different region in the country, St.Petersburg has reported the highest cases of the deadly virus over the past 24 hours. A total of 4,753 people were infected with the virus, and it is followed by the Moscow region, which has reported a total of 2,795 cases of novel coronavirus.
On the other hand, a total of 661 cases of viral infection have been reported in the Nizhny Novgorod region, 695 cases were from the Sverdlovsk region, and the least cases of the COVID-19 virus was reported from the Samara region.
As per the status of recovery, the number of patients discharged from the hospital facilities and recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic was 9,167. Most importantly, it was 3.8 percent less than the previous day.
However, the number of hospitalized patients has shown a surge in around 27 regions in Russia. Moreover, with the emergence of new cases of the novel coronavirus in the country, the toll of active cases has risen to 663,868, and these patients are undergoing treatment in hospital facilities.
Further, a total of 684 people have lost their lives due to the COVID-19 pandemic over the past 24 hours, and it has seen little fall as on the previous day, the death toll stood at 698. As per the report of the crisis centre, the rate of fatality in Russia stood at 2.96 percent.
In total, 24,478 patients have been received from the contagious mutant over the past 24 hours, which further brings the recovery rate in Russia to 91 percent so far.
